A Gentle 2026 Beginning

Here at The Farme, and in our retail Bread and Bloom Farme-Stand we’re easing out of Christmas not by rushing the season, but by gentle transition. Evergreen greens give way to neutral winter textures, soft whites, warm woods, and the faintest hints of blush and reds, just enough for us to whisper we have Valentine’s Day merch without shouting it two weeks after Christmas is over. Winter still belongs here, but it now carries a little warmth and a little romance and a hint of spring in the air as Lebanon, Missouri was three days of 67* this week, the first week of January. crazy.

Behind the scenes, this is one of our favorite times of year. While the fields are resting, our seed trays are filling with possibility. Rows of flower seedlings are being started indoors—tiny beginnings of zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, and summer favorites yet to bloom. It’s a reminder to me that even when everything outside feels still, growth is quietly underway and our 2026 is something I am looking forward to with great hope for beauty

This season invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy winter for what it is—without forgetting what’s coming next. I am holding space for cozy mornings with my oil lamps a coffee and moment of simple beauty and am experiencing the joy of having my 2026 planner on my lap.

Spring and summer will arrive in their time though we are getting a tease of it this week. Until then, I will keep babysitting and nurturing seedlings, bake bread, bring more spring into the Farme-Stand and watch the sun linger minute by minute each day a bit longer.

Thank you for walking through the seasons with us. The best blooms are still to come. 🌸
Kindly,
Brian and Laurie
